Ultrafiltration (UF)

Ultrafiltration (UF) is a membrane separation process that removes suspended solids, bacteria, most viruses, endotoxins and other pathogens, to produce water with high purity and low silt density. UF uses hollow fibres of membrane material, with the feed water flowing either inside the shell, or in the lumen of the fibres. UF systems are often used in conjunction with other purification technologies, such as Nanofiltration (NF) or Reverse Osmosis (RO), along with post-filtration treatments such as UV and chlorination in a complete water system. UF is renowned as the choice process for point-of-use filtration for the safe production of drinking water.

Membrane Systems Australia has a hire fleet available for short or long-term lease. Our plants are containerised for efficient installation and utilise technology which enables remote monitoring to reduce the attention needed once installed.

Reverse Osmosis (RO)

Reverse Osmosis (RO) is a membrane process that removes dissolved salts and other impurities from water. The semi-permeable membrane allows a passage of water while rejecting inorganic and metals ions. Using different membranes and unit designs, it is possible to remove salts in everything from pre-treated ground water, right up to high salinity seawater. RO is commonly referred to as desalination, being extensively used to produce drinking water from seawater and brackish groundwater for the benefit of communities and industries. A well-designed RO system will reject 95-99% of most feed water contaminants, and requires very little maintenance once installed.

RO units can range in capacity, from small units housed inside containers, up to large skid mounted, site assembled units.

Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF)

The Dissolved Air Floatation (DAF) process is used to remove suspended solids, oil and grease from wastewater. The unit utilises a special dissolved air contactor, which dissolves air efficiently in a recycle stream, and then releases in when contacted with the incoming wastewater stream. The fine bubbles produced float the solids to the surface of the DAF where they are removed by a scraper system.

DAF units are used to treat wastewaters produced from shopping centre food courts and industries such as food, beverage and poultry manufacturing and processing reducing trade waste discharge.

PFAS

Our PFAS Remediation System is a multi-stage process using our very own patented technology that removes >95% of both short and long-chain PFAS precursors in a single pass with undetected results being achieved once the water has passed through its final polishing stage.

An additional process to our treatment system focuses on the destruction of the PFAS contaminated bi-product and the regeneration of the extraction medium, offering a complete solution.

The added benefits of our system are that the process will remove other contaminants including but not limited to trichloroethene (TCE), Pesticides, Herbicides and Hydrocarbons.

Filtrate water is suitable for irrigation, reinjection or even potable water grade.

MSA uses its own patented technology within their PFAS removal system which currently treats up to 2ML/d of contaminated ground water and successfully removes more than >95% of both short and long chain PFAS precursors in a single pass. Undetected results are being achieve once the water has passed through its final polishing stage all within our patented process.
