Dissolved air flotation

The DAF process is used to remove suspended solids, oil and grease from wastewater. The unit utilizes a special dissolved air contactor which dissolves air efficiently in a recycle stream and then releases in when contacted with the incoming wastewater stream. The fine bubbles produced float the solids to the surface of the DAF where it is removed by a scraper system.

DAF units are used to treat wastewaters produced in industries such as food and beverage manufacturing and poultry processing.
